Ok, just kidding, but check this out. JC Hutchins posted the audio of the August Podcaster Meetup on Podcast Island in his 7th Son: OBSIDIAN feed. Very cool.

Now we’re just waiting for Gary to post it in the Podcast Island Podcast feed. Come on, Gary. You know we’ll never get anywhere near the same number of downloads, but we can at least try!

Woohoo! JC Hutchins came back, and this time all the audio gods were with us! Well.. ok, with those who were there the whole time. I started the recording and had to leave, checking back a couple times, but otherwise I missed the whole thing. The nice part of that (work with me, I’ve never really tried being an optimist before) is that (after it’s available) when I listen to the podcast, it’ll be all new to me!

Here’s JC back for the second time to be with the SL podcasters.

Alright, I ADMIT IT!!!!!! It’s not original. But I finally put 7Seas fishing equipment on Podcast Island and Podcaster Island. Dedric asked if I wanted to go over to Woodbridge and fish, so I joined a huge crowd of people there… unfortunately I was lagged out, as you can tell by the green clouds where avatars should have been.

But the net result was, I found out how fun the 7Seas thing is so I bought the vendor kit and put a copy on Podcaster Island on the SW corner. There are servers on the shore and in the “floating hut” as well.

Then I flew over to Podcast Island and put in a vendor and some fishing servers there too. Hey, we have a dock, just sitting there….

Yay, unoriginal fun! Come catch something! Wait, I heard that at a party once. But this time I mean it in a good way!

JC Hutchins was to be our guest speaker for the July podcaster meetup, and in fact he did come in and join us, but due to technical problems with SL voice we’ve rescheduled for August 4th (Monday) at 6 PM SLT in the usual location on Podcast Island.

Ever wonder how to share, promote, or watch & listen to podcasts in Second Life? Wonder no more, curious avatars. We’ve made a short movie to explain, thanks to Crap Mariner’s research for the SL5B bash and his podcast exhibit there.

It’s been awhile since I posted here… you may even wonder where we’ve gone. Which reminds me… every so often listeners of the podcast tell me they came looking for me in SL and can’t find me. They do know that Podcast and Podcaster Island are two good places to try though. But what about other podcasters? There’s a few great Second Life podcasts out there, and what about finding those people?

In this episode of SLPN In Your Face, which was actually made as a screencast for Crap’s SL5B podcast build, Chug and I thought we’d show you some places where podcasters can be found.

Podcasters abound in Second Life. Find the shows you like, and don’t be afraid to ditch those you don’t. Egos have no place in podcast, IMO. They just guarantee it’ll be harder to reach out and finally REALLY get to the masses.

We met someone at the Destination Station, or someone IMd me… I don’t really remember… but they mentioned they found it because it turned up as the top search result in an SL search for “meet new people.” Hmmm. I wish I could remember who told me that, maybe I could get some insight into what they were actually hoping to find?

Oh, well. I’m sure they were only looking for someone to play bingo with. But they got something better - a place with links to some great builds to explore.
